Day 7 – April 6, 2025 – Lindis Lodge off-road adventure

After our breakfast we met Sam, our guide for our off-road trek into the mountains. We first had to get suited up as it would be cold and windy. We wore our down jackets that we had from our trip to antarctica, so we were not worried about the cold. Sam fitted us with windbreakers, helmets and gloves. Although, I had the gloves Elyse gave me for our trip last year. They have removable fingers for taking photos. They came in very handy once again.

We headed out for our adventure, stopping first at a sheep shearing shed (say that five times fast). The sheep they raise here are Marino sheep and are valued for the wool.

We then headed up the trek passing through several gates through passes and along the ridgeline of the mountains. Beautiful views.

Eventually we stopped by a stream for lunch. Then headed back to the lodge, stopping briefly overlooking what they call the “amphitheater”.

In all a great morning. Then back to the lodge for a rest, refreshing, and dinner.
